Termites Pest Control

Termites are insects that feed on dead plant life and cellulose. This affects homeowners because wooden structures are what termites absolutely thrive upon. For termites, a veritable feast can be found in a home, and because these are sheltered structures, termites can build their nests and often go undetected until too late.

What are their habits?

Termites spend their time feeding voraciously on timber. They are divided into workers and soldiers, and the only exceptions are the fertile males and females who reproduce for the whole colony. Termites lack wings, so they do not fly and generally don’t venture too far from where the colony is.

What is their life cycle?

Termite colonies can last several years, and in that time a developed colony has queens that will lay up to 1,000 eggs per day. As you can imagine, this rate of reproduction is extremely dangerous when termites have infested a home. Because colonies can develop undetected for years, by the time you discover termites, it can become very costly to remove them.

What damages and diseases do they bring the household?

Termites are extremely destructive to a home. The reality is a termite colony can cause hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage if not caught early. This is why Safe Home Pest Control specializes in termite extermination – because your home is too valuable to lose to termites!
